In order to deny minority rights, the Texas Republican Party has gerrymandered the new Texas congressional district map into opportunities for Democrats in Tarrant County, TX. The county had four congressional districts. Now, it has five districts with one, TX33, having an open seat. The Texas Republican Party reserved it for a Tea Party candidate. However, the population increases in Tarrant County was made by various minorities who are not friends with the Republican Party. This means all five congressional districts had their Republican margins reduced to levels that put all five districts, especially the new TX33, open to reversal by Democratic candidates. Since I have lived where the new TX33 was created for 29 years, I am running in TX33.
There is a Green Industrial revolution right around the corner and David is ready to lead the way. This revolution will provide jobs for people in this district while helping America to become energy independant. We must use our resources wisely and as a Green Dog Democrat David can help us do just that.
No one issue stands alone and the economy and health care reform are no different. A strong economy allows our health care system to to support and pay for a quality health care system. A good health care system helps create strong, healthy workers, lifting the burden of insurance costs for business. Business can then compete globally and invest its increasing profits into the expanding economy.
I am running because it is time for the voters of TX-33 to be represented by someone who understands their needs, understands this district and understands that as their Congressman I am to be held accountable by them for the work I do on their behalf.
I have two grandchildren. I want them to be able to lead their lives as they choose. I want them to have an outstanding education which will prepare them for their chosen careers. I want them to be able to enjoy the wonders that nature has given us including wide open spaces, hills and valleys, and clean air in general. And it is not just my grandchildren who should have this life. It should be everyone's children. This is why I am running.
